CK Wonder Kidz Brings the Chota Char Dham to Life Through Navaratri Golu Celebrations
- Nine-day Golu celebration brings India’s spiritual heritage, creativity, and the values of Win @ Life together
- Children and parents participate in cultural activities, devotional traditions, and festive experiences
Chennai, 16 October, 2026: Bringing India’s spiritual heritage closer to young learners, CK Wonder Kidz is celebrating Navaratri with a nine-day Golu inspired by the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage destinations of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Centred on the theme ‘Divine Energy, Culture, Creativity, Win @ Life’, the celebrations offer children an engaging way to discover India’s cultural traditions while exploring values that shape their formative years.
The themed Golu brings the four sacred destinations to life through a festive display that combines devotion with cultural storytelling. Rooted in CK Wonder Kidz’s Win @ Life philosophy, the initiative encourages children to explore their heritage, express their creativity, and learn through shared experiences. Teachers and staff have come together to curate the display and activities, making the celebrations a collaborative experience that connects traditional practices with early childhood learning. Admissions are now open at CK Wonder Kidz for the upcoming academic session, with the school welcoming new admissions on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.
Commenting on the significance of the celebrations, Ms. Amudhavalli Ranganathan, Executive Director, CK Group of Educational Institutions; Chairperson, UNESCO-CREGU India; and Sustainable Development Council, said, “Early childhood is when curiosity begins to shape character. When children experience culture through stories, music, movement and shared celebrations, they develop an appreciation for their roots while learning to express themselves with confidence. As I always say, when we elevate a life, we elevate generations. As educators, our role is to create environments where children feel encouraged to explore, participate and discover the values that help them grow into thoughtful and compassionate individuals.”Running from 11 to 19 October, the celebrations feature daily pujas, floral decorations, kolams, music and prasadam, reflecting the traditions associated with Navaratri. The children also explore global sustainability through selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), incorporated into the Golu displays. Students have also developed themes inspired by UNESCO-CREGU’s work on tribal communities and heritage, celebrating indigenous knowledge,
cultural traditions, Indian heritage monuments, art forms and crafts, while highlighting the importance of education, healthcare, livelihoods and equal opportunities for tribal communities. Highlights include ‘Walk into Wonder’, a ramp walk by children, and a Dandiya Night bringing children and parents together. These activities extend the celebrations beyond the classroom, creating opportunities for families to participate in cultural traditions and strengthen their connection with the school community.
Through its Chota Char Dham-inspired Golu and thoughtfully curated activities, CK Wonder Kidz seeks to make cultural learning a joyful and meaningful part of childhood. By bringing together spirituality, creativity, and family participation, the celebrations reflect the institution’s commitment to nurturing young learners through experiences that connect them with their heritage and the values of Win @ Life.
