Hosts wellness and grooming sessions; recognizes the success and contribution of women entrepreneurs in the business

Chennai, March 8th, 2020: Reiterating its commitment to women empowerment, Amway India, one of the country’s leading direct selling FMCG companies[1], launched multiple initiatives to celebrate women and their progress this International Women’s Day across key markets in Tamil Nadu. Promoting and practicing gender diversity, Amway India has helped close to 3.50 lakh women entrepreneurs, which is 60% of the total Amway direct sellers, work towards financial independence.

Commemorating International Women’s Day, Amway India organized a day-long health and beauty event promoting inner health for outside beauty. The celebrations started with an invigorating Zumba session followed by an engaging discussion on best grooming practices for professionals which was led by award-winning celebrity make-up artist Rama S. With an aim to recognize and encourage budding women entrepreneurs, Amway India also felicitated leading women direct sellers. The event concluded with a mesmerizing performance by the renowned all-female Carnatic Acapella band, The Spasht.

 A recent report by Bain & Company and Google highlights that women, through entrepreneurship, can generate transformational employment in India and create 150-170 million jobs, which is more than 25% of the new jobs required for the entire working-age population by 2030.
