Orchids Students showcased Chennai’s folk culture through a rhythmic tapestry of colors carnival, nine navarasa and the evolution of humankind
Chennai, February 04, 2025: Renowned actor of popular Raja Rani TV serial, Trauma OTT movie & VJ – Prathosh (a.k.a Actor Prathu) graced and participated in the annual day celebrations of Orchids The International School, Pulianthope campus. The theme for this year’s annual celebrations was called Saraang- which was a confluence of creativity, talent, and vibrancy. The event offered a rhythmic tapestry, giving parents a glimpse into Chennai’s vibrant folk culture, the nine navarasa, and the evolution of humankind. Orchids students showcased the state’s rich cultural heritage through their mesmerising performances, leaving the audience spellbound.

KG students presented captivating performances under their theme ‘Colours Carnival’ that highlighted the school’s emphasis on academics and arts. The theme was inspired by the idea that life is a canvas and every colour adds its unique hue, creating a masterpiece.
Adding to this cultural richness, students of Primary presented a skit on Navarasa, beautifully illustrating the nine emotions that shape human experience. The Secondary students took the audience on an engaging journey through the evolution of humankind through their theme, Elements. Their performance depicted the transition from the Stone Age and tribal formations to the reign of kings and queens, technological advancements, and the rise of the working class.
The students performed a series of vibrant dance performances that highlighted Chennai’s cultural diversity and artistic expression, leaving the audience mesmerised. Also, melodious renditions by the school choir and individual instrumental performances added a soulful touch to the evening. Parents, faculty, and invited guests were enthralled by the high-energy performances and appreciated the school’s efforts in providing a platform for students to exhibit their talents.
