Faria Abdullah Makes Her Tamil Debut with Lyca Productions’ ‘Sigma’ as the Film Registers an Encouraging Theatrical Run
Lyca Productions’ Sigma, directed by Jason Sanjay and starring Sundeep Kishan, has made an encouraging start at the box office, with the footfalls increasing gradually day-by-day due to positive word of mouth positive response. The film is now seeing the warmth and love of audiences, who love this respective genre when infused with right ingredients of entertainment.
The film’s theatrical performance makes the occasion even more special for actress Faria Abdullah, who makes her Tamil debut with Sigma. The action-adventure heist entertainer has brought together an exciting young combination of Sundeep Kishan, Faria Abdullah and debutant director Jason Sanjay, with audiences now getting an opportunity to experience the film on the big screen.
For Faria, Sigma marks not just her entry into Tamil cinema but also another significant milestone in a creative journey that has taken her across acting, dance, theatre, rap and filmmaking.
Speaking about the film’s theatrical response and her experience of working with Jason Sanjay, Faria says:
“Working with Sanjay was an amazing experience. He is extremely confident about what he wants to create, and that confidence made the entire process very exciting for all of us. We had such a great time working together, and I genuinely enjoyed being part of this film. Making my Tamil debut with Sigma has been a very special experience for me. Now, seeing the film in theatres and receiving a positive response from audiences makes the journey even more memorable. I’m extremely happy and grateful to be part of Sigma and to begin my Tamil journey with a film that is connecting with audiences.”
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Faria Abdullah has always explored multiple forms of creative expression, with her journey extending well beyond acting. A dancer since childhood, she has trained in different dance styles, including both studio and street forms. Her interests also led her towards fine arts and literature during her higher secondary education.
She later pursued Mass Communication and underwent more than six years of theatre and stage training, building a strong foundation in performance and storytelling.
Faria’s creative pursuits have continued to evolve alongside her acting career. Over the past two years, she has also been writing and performing rap, while exploring the world of music videos as a director. She recently took another step behind the camera by producing a music video, further expanding her creative involvement in filmmaking.
Her acting journey began in Telugu cinema with the blockbuster Jathi Ratnalu in March 2021. The film became a major success and introduced Faria to a wider audience. She subsequently went on to be part of films including Mathu Vadalara 2, Aa Okkati Adakku, Gurram Paapi Reddy, Gayapadda Simham, Ravanasura and Like Share Subscribe, among others. She also ventured into Hindi content with SonyLIV’s web series The Jengaburu Curse.
Now, with Sigma, Faria has entered Tamil cinema at an important point in the film’s theatrical journey. Tamil Nadu has emerged as the film’s strongest market during its opening weekend, giving her Tamil debut an added significance. (Cinema Express)
