VELAMMAL’S CHESS CHAMP SHINES AT THE INTERNATIONAL OPEN CHESS TOURNEY!

Grandmaster Gukesh D,  class 10  of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Aynambakkam has yet again  triumphed winning the Second place with a cash award of Rs 3.5 lacs plus a glittering trophy for his gallant display at  the 19th Delhi International Open  GM Chess Tournament-2022 that concluded at the Tivoli Gardens in New Delhi  recently.

GM Gukesh continued his good run by winning six games in a row and scaled 8.5 points from 10 rounds taking up his  live rating to 2614 . He defeated the champion  Master Abhijet Gupta in the final round of this tourney.
