Ranbir Kapoor, Yash’s Ramayana Set for Historic World Premiere at Academy Museum, Los Angeles!
Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rocking Star Yash and Sai Pallavi, will hold its world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on the evening of October 27, 2026.
The invite-only premiere will host leading Hollywood figures, filmmakers, international press and prominent members of the film industry.
The Academy Museum is dedicated to the history, art and science of filmmaking, and has hosted several global events and Oscar-related celebrations over the years.
For Ramayana, the premiere is a significant moment as the makers introduce their Indian epic to an international audience.
The screening will be in 3D, before a full-capacity audience of 945 guests.
With the premiere coinciding with Deepavali, the makers are also bringing the festive spirit of India to Los Angeles. Guests have been requested to arrive in traditional Indian festive attire for the red carpet.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The music is composed by Hans Zimmer and A R Rehman. The film is envisioned as a two-part cinematic epic. The first part releases worldwide on November 5, 2026, and the second part follows during Diwali 2027.
Ramayana will release in Hindi, Telugu , Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam, and will also have an IMAX release. Sony Pictures will handle global distribution outside India.
